Illiteracy is the root cause of all distortions that are afflicting Pakistan socially, culturally, politically and economically. Millions of children from the poverty stricken families are either out of school or drop outs thus are deprived of education at very basic levels. These children need to be educated in order to function adequately in the changing environment and to contribute in the development process of their own families as well as of the country.
Nevertheless, in the present scenario of the country, uncertainty and lawlessness is felt every where, terrorism and acts of terrorism are heard or seen everyday. Number of youth who sits idle in streets and corners are in danger of getting trapped in various crimes. Scriptures affirm that “God is Wonderful Advisor and Mighty God, Eternal Father and Prince of peace. His Power will never end; peace will last forever.” (Isaiah 9:6-7)
God is the source and the framer of peace and tranquility. He desires that harmony, peace and tolerance be established among all human beings. Society for Education and Economic Development (SEED) wants to further this Charter of Peace and Harmony by eliminating maladies from the society and illuminating it by removing shadows of ignorance and illiteracy.
To achieve this goal SEED plans to establish primary schools for children living in abandoned communities of rural and urban slums, remote areas, brick-kilns, villages etc.
